As Morocco gears up to play its third World Cup group stage match in Atlanta, the country’s ambassador to the United States is seeing soccer as a useful “tool” to deepen the countries’ longstanding alliance.
Ambassador Youssef Amrani spent Monday morning checking on the status of the grass playing surface at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but while the country is hoping to use Atlanta to celebrate its move to the next round, what happens off the pitch will have a longer-lasting effect, he told Global Atlanta.
